EL Journal Support

Everything you need to get set up and get the most out of EL Journal. Start with the guide below, browse the common questions, or get in touch if you’re still stuck.

Getting started

Three steps from a fresh account to your first review.

1

Connect your broker

Link your account once through a secure connection — or, for any platform, just import a CSV. Your broker login credentials are never stored.

2

We pull your closed trades

EL Journal fetches your completed trades automatically and keeps them in sync, so your journal fills itself in without manual entry.

3

Review and improve

Study your results on the dashboard, calendar and analytics, then ask the AI coach what to work on next — and trade with a clearer edge.

Connecting a broker

EL Journal connects two ways. Live sync links your account once and pulls your closed trades automatically — the hands-off option, available on 20+ platforms. CSV import works for every broker: export your trade history and drop the file in. You can mix both, and switch any time.

Your data & privacy

Your trades are yours. We read your closed-trade history only, through a secure connection, and your broker login credentials are never stored. Access is read-only — EL Journal never places orders or touches your funds. Export everything as JSON, or delete it, whenever you like.

Billing & plans

Start on Basic — broker auto-sync, the full analytics suite and the AI trading coach — billed monthly or yearly (yearly saves 14%). A more powerful Premium plan is on the way. Cancel any time and keep access to the end of your paid period.

Frequently asked questions

Is EL Journal available now?

Yes — EL Journal is live. Start for free with no card, then upgrade to Basic whenever you're ready. A more powerful Premium plan is on the way — leave your email on the pricing page to hear when it lands.

How do I connect my broker?

Open Settings → Connections, pick your broker, and sign in through the secure connection screen. EL Journal then pulls your closed trades automatically. If your broker isn’t on the live-sync list yet, you can still import a CSV export — every broker works that way.

Which brokers does EL Journal support?

Over 20 brokers and platforms sync automatically — across stocks, options, futures, forex and crypto — and every broker works via CSV import even if it is not on the live-sync list. See the Broker Support page for the full, up-to-date list.

Can I import a CSV instead of connecting a broker?

Absolutely. Every broker supports CSV import — export your history from your broker and drop the file in. Live sync is the convenient option, but CSV import means no platform is ever left out.

My trades didn’t import — what should I check?

First, make sure the trades are closed — EL Journal syncs completed trades, not open positions. For CSV, check you exported the trade history (not the account statement) and that the file still has its column headers. If live sync looks stuck, disconnect and reconnect the broker in Settings → Connections; if it persists, contact us and we’ll take a look.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your trades are yours. When you connect a broker we only read your closed-trade history through a secure connection — your broker login credentials are never stored by EL Journal — and you can export everything as JSON or delete it at any time.

Can EL Journal place trades or move my money?

No. Access is strictly read-only — EL Journal imports your filled and closed trades for journaling and analytics. It never places orders, moves funds, or touches your open positions.

How do I export or delete my data?

Export your whole journal as JSON (or a trade log as PDF) any time from within the app — your data is portable and never locked in. Deleting your account removes your data; contact us if you want a full wipe confirmed.

What does the AI trading coach do?

It reads your real trade history and gives specific, personal feedback on your discipline, recurring mistakes and edge — think of it as a review partner that has actually seen every trade you’ve taken, rather than generic tips.

What's the difference between Basic and Premium?

Basic includes everything EL Journal does today — broker auto-sync, the full analytics suite and the AI trading coach. Premium is a more powerful plan for serious traders that we are finishing now; leave your email on the pricing page and you will be the first to hear what is in it, and when it lands.

What's the difference between monthly and yearly on Basic?

Exactly the same access either way. Yearly is billed once at $299 — a 14% discount versus 12 × $29 = $348, saving you $49 — instead of every month.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes — Basic is cancel-any-time, and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. You can also export your full journal before you go, so nothing is ever trapped.
